Jean Amador is a woman of many hats. She can be seen around the WHP office greeting clients as they walk in the door, managing the prescription assistance program and durable medical equipment authorization for current WHP members, submitting new Medicaid applications and walking folks across the courtyard to DHHS to advocate on their behalf for any given problem. On top of that, Jean maintains all administrative duties- making copies, ordering supplies and managing schedules. If you're thinking, "she seems to do it all," then you are correct. And she does this all with a smile on her face!
Jean has worked for Washtenaw County since 1991. She held positions in Community Mental Health, Huron Valley Child Guidance and Washtenaw Community Health Organization before joining the WHP in 2004. That makes her the longest employed WHP staff member, aside from our executive director!
Jean lives in Brighton with her husband and two sons. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening and playing and watching softball (Go Blue!). Jean is an active member of her church and acts as a mentor in several programs. She continues advocacy efforts in her spare time, assisting friends and acquaintances with accessing health coverage.
